Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using RapidCare SA ("the platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the platform. RapidCare SA is developed and operated by a single South African doctor ("we", "us", "our").

2. Eligible users

The platform is intended exclusively for qualified and registered South African healthcare professionals, registered medical / nursing students, and allied clinicians. A valid HPCSA, MP, or accredited-institution registration number is required at sign-up. Accounts may be suspended or terminated if a registration number is found to be invalid, shared, or fraudulent.

3. Single-device enforcement

To protect the integrity of the clinician community and to prevent credential sharing, each account may be signed in on only one device at a time. Logging in on a new device will automatically sign the account out elsewhere. This is not optional.

4. Clinical decision-support — not medical advice

RapidCare SA is a decision-support and clinical reference tool. It does not diagnose patients, replace professional judgement, or substitute for specialist consultation. You remain solely responsible for all clinical decisions, including but not limited to diagnosis, prescribing, monitoring, escalation, and obtaining informed consent. Always verify information against the current South African Medicines Formulary (SAMF), the NDoH Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG/EML), and the policies of your facility.

Clinical content on the platform is generated using artificial-intelligence tooling against published South African guidelines, with clear source attribution on each item. Because no single clinician can exhaustively verify every entry at publication, all content is placed under ongoing review by healthcare professionals; inaccuracies or outdated information may be present at any given time. Users are expected to raise corrections via rapidcaresasupport@gmail.com, which are actioned on a rolling basis.

5. Reference-only tool

RapidCare SA is a clinical reference tool. This tool is for reference only and requires a qualified medical practitioner to approve any treatments. Every protocol, dose, calculator, and ICD-10 code returned by the platform must be reviewed, interpreted, and approved by a qualified medical practitioner before being applied to a patient. Do not enter patient-identifiable information into the platform.

6. Payments, access periods and refunds

  • Free accounts have permanent access to the 50 most-common emergency protocols and a small daily quota of ICD-10 code searches. Full access requires a paid plan.
  • Payments (ZAR) are processed securely via Payfast as a once-off payment for the access period you select (e.g. 30 days or 365 days).
  • There is no recurring or automatic billing and nothing to cancel. Your premium access simply ends at the close of the paid period unless you choose to renew.
  • All payments are final and non-refundable. Because access is granted immediately and digital content is consumed on payment, we do not offer refunds, credits or pro-rata refunds for unused time, except where a refund is required by the South African Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.
  • A 7-day free trial is included with every new account so you can evaluate the full product before paying. No card is charged during the trial, and you are never charged automatically — your trial simply ends and you can upgrade whenever you're ready.
  • We may change pricing at any time; changes apply only to new purchases and renewals and do not affect an access period you have already paid for.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) share your account or credentials; (b) attempt to circumvent paywalls or rate limits; (c) scrape, copy, or republish content beyond brief clinical reference; (d) upload patient-identifiable information; (e) use the platform for any unlawful purpose; (f) attempt to probe, scan, or interfere with the security of the platform.

False registration numbers. You warrant that all HPCSA, MP, or accredited-institution registration numbers provided at sign-up are true, accurate, current, and your own. If you provide a false, expired, forged, or another person's registration number in order to gain access to the platform, you bear sole and personal liability for any resulting use of the platform — including any clinical, legal, or regulatory consequences flowing from that use. RapidCare SA accepts no responsibility whatsoever for access obtained via false credentials and reserves the right to immediately terminate the account, retain any fees already paid, and report the misuse to the HPCSA and relevant authorities.

8. Intellectual property & copyright

The RapidCare SA name, logo, platform, user interface, code, site design, compiled clinical database, protocol summaries, calculator implementations, illustrations, educational copy, and overall product concept are the exclusive intellectual property of the developer. They are protected under the Copyright Act, 1978 (South Africa), the Trade Marks Act, 1993, and international copyright conventions.

Third-party clinical guidelines (e.g. NDoH STG/EML, SAMF, SEMDSA, EMSSA, SA Heart, SA Thoracic, CCSSA, IMCI) are adapted with source attribution as part of this curated database — that attribution does not transfer ownership of this curated work to those bodies. RapidCare SA has no formal endorsement from, or affiliation with, these organisations unless explicitly stated.

Clinical reference content is curated against publicly published South African guidelines, and is placed under ongoing review by healthcare professionals. The compiled, reviewed, and published database remains the property of RapidCare SA.

You may not, without our express prior written permission:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or resell any substantial portion of the platform content;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the site;
  • Use the RapidCare SA name, logo, look-and-feel, or compiled database to market a competing product;
  • Use the platform's content to train any model or system without written permission.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property right to you. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the platform for your own clinical reference while your account is in good standing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, neither RapidCare SA nor its developer shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the platform. No warranty (express or implied) is given as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular clinical purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or the Health Professions Act of South Africa.

10. Privacy and data protection

We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, how we use it, and your rights under POPIA.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, attempt to share credentials, upload patient-identifiable information, or abuse the platform. On termination, your access ceases immediately; personal data is deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

13. Changes

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
